DESCRIPTION

Various Artist - “Zabriskie Point Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” MGM Records SE-4668ST (Stereo) from 1970. Hard to find First U.S. Pressing Psych / Prog Soundtrack album from the Michelangelo Antonioni Movie starring Mark Frechette and Daria Halprin. Great selection of tunes ranging from Psych and Prog to Folk Rock to Country and featuring such greats as The Pink Floyd, Kaleidoscope, The Grateful Dead, John Fahey, Jerry Garcia and more. First Pressing on the Original Blue and Gold MGM Labels. This version of the Labels is distinguished by having "Stereo" and the Catalog Number on the left and "Side 1” and “Side 2” on the right. The Director and film title appear on separate lines. "Album Produced By Don Hall" at bottom of labels instead of "Music Coordinated By…”. In the Original Cover with No Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight basic shelf wear, edge creasing and corner softening/wear. The bottom seam has a 1” piece of tape at the opening edge, probably part split. There is some “age spotting” on the back as well as a green dot in the upper right corner. Someone has crossed out all references to Patti Page and “The Tennessee Waltz” on the cover and label. Still solid with no stains, tears, cutouts, etc. and I would rate it as VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition. There are some overall light scuffs and faint hairlines. Mostly plays perfectly EX to Near Mint with just a couple random spots of light groove noise and maybe a couple soft tics - nothing that detracts from the music. Visually VG but plays WAY better and might improve with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The labels show some light spindle trails and the Patti Page song has been crossed out but otherwise the labels are Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
