Composer Danny Elfman has been responsible for some fantastic soundtracks over the years, though few quite as magical as his score for Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands. Elfman still believes it's his best work to date, and as this deluxe 30th anniversary edition proves, it's hard to argue. Featuring a 79-piece orchestra and a choir of singers, the soundtrack's compositions are both expansive and tender, playing on Burton's vivid imagery, "twisted fairy tale" storyline and regular emotional peaks and troughs. This time round the recording has been given a sparkling re-master and a marbled vinyl pressing, plus deluxe packaging that includes an art print.
