Stars is the title of the fourth album recorded by British soul band Simply Red. It was released on September 30, 1991. Five singles were taken from the album including the hits "Stars" and "For Your Babies". Nationally it was a huge success, becoming the best-selling album in the UK during 1991 and 1992. It went 12 platinum records and was the sixth best-selling album of all time in the UK. It was also the last album to feature Tim Kellett, a close friend of Hucknall's, who formed another band. In 2000 Q magazine placed Stars at number 80 on its list of the 100 greatest British albums ever.
