In 1980, in the midst of the military dictatorship, Serú Giran recorded and edited Bicicleta, his third studio album and the one that would definitely elevate the brilliant Argentine quartet. 40 years after that launch and celebrating the 70th anniversary of its great creator, Charly García, Universal presents the long-awaited remastered vinyl edition of this iconic work of the National rock. Through its eight themes, Bicicleta contains several messages about the actuality of the Argentina of those years. Without a doubt "Canción de Alicia en el Pais" is a subtle X-ray of the Videla dictatorship, while "A los jóvenes de ayer" y "Mientras miro las nuevas olas" do not spare criticism towards certain musical manifestations. And "José Mercado", composed by David Lebón, speaks of a society anesthetized by the consumption of imported trinkets. Radical, acidic, critical and always brilliant musicians, the Seru Giran, with sheer talent, earned the privileged place in the olympus of Argentine rock. Bicycle is an essential work that now it can be enjoyed with the incomparable sound of vinyl totally re-issue and remastered edition.
