DuoDisc Home Recording From Radio: Roosevelt Inaugural & Report to Nation 1/1945
Set of six records (12 sides) recorded from radio presentations on 1/6/1945 and 1/20/1945. Five of the records are in very good condition and don't appear to have been played much. One, part 1 of the four part Inaugural address, is slightly warped and more scratchy than the others. This particular disc also has a family recording on the back, so it may have seen more use. They all have paper sleeves. 78 rpm. I sampled parts of each of them, particularly the beginning and the end, and they work. They do have the scratchiness associated with old vinyl.
These were recorded by and belonged to an uncle who was a radio operator on ships traveling during the early and mid-1900s. He was very interested in technology.
These may be of interest to collectors not only for the content but also for the example of early home recording technology.
