Motley Crue released their third studio album in 1985, and called it 'Theater of Pain'. By that point, the Crue were firing on all cylinders, and poised to take over the world. Hair metal was at its peak. Glam metal became the norm for a lot of hard rock and heavy metal bands. Though the Crue didn't stay glam for much longer, they pretty much epitomized it at that time! The entire album is very good. And one of the big hits on it was the cover of a 70s Brownsville Station hit titled "Smokin' In the Boys Room". Metal bands remade other people's hits quite a bit, and this version is actually really good...

On the auction block today is a vintage 80s shaped picture disc from Motley Crue, for that remake! It features the comedy and tragedy masks from the album cover. "Smokin' In the Boys Room" is on the A side, and the track "Use It or Lose It" is on the B side. The B side contains the song titles and credits. Now quite a lot of 80s picture discs that utilized clear vinyl has become oxidized through the years. This is also commonly known as "tea stained", due to its orange/rust color. But NOT this one! Nearly impossible to find in this condition, the copy has almost no tea staining. (Just maybe a tad bit on the sides of the masks. Not at all in the middle or underneath the masks!) The pics makes it look like it has a yellowish tint, but that's just the way the pics came out. (Check out the pic where it's held up to the sunlight.) It looks amazing for something that's well over THIRTY FIVE years old!

This shaped picture disc single is STILL SEALED, and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED!! Maybe that's why there is very, very little tea staining. Sealed in its original plastic jacket, coke with hype sticker.  Brand new, for that loved one in your life who loves Motley Crue, classic hair and glam metal, and collectors of vintage shaped picture discs; or grab this for yourself, because you know you're worth it!
