Jagged Little Pill is the third studio album and the first published internationally by Canadian singer Alanis Morissette. It was released in June 1995 and contains 12 songs (along with a hidden theme).  It is considered one of the most successful albums in history due to its commercial achievements and awards. It is also the fifth best-selling album by a female artist and the fourteenth best-selling album of all time. It peaked at # 1 on the US Billboard 200 for 12 weeks and was one of only five albums to stay in the top 10 for over a year (along with Michael Jackson's Thriller, Falling Into You by Céline Dion, Fearless by Taylor Swift and 1989, also by Taylor Swift.) The album continued a slow rise in the charts, but during 1995 it sold, in the United States alone, more than 4 million copies, while in 1996 it became the best-selling album of the year with more than 10 million copies in that country. By 2000 it had sold 28 million copies worldwide, and by 2009 it had sold more than 33 million copies. In October 2002, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the album at No. 31 on the Women In Rock list. The 50 Essential Albums, and in 2003 the magazine ranked the album at # 327 on its list of The 500 Greatest Albums in History. The Rock Hall of Fame ranked it at No. 26 on the list of "The 200 Albums Every Music Lover Should Have". Definitely a classic album that you must have in your vinyl collection!
