The Beatles “Rubber Soul” Original U.K. 1st Stereo Pressing. 1965 Parlophone Records PCS 3075. Made and printed in Great Britain.

Stunning, age-defying first U.K. Stereo pressing of this classic, groundbreaking 1965 LP, complete with the rare, original “EMITEX” inner sleeve. Astonishing condition after nearly 57 years of existence.

I acquired this from another private Beatles collector some years ago and I have never played it since it has been in my possession. Safely stored in a smoke- free environment.

LP SLEEVE:

- No seam-splits, rips, writing or tears.

- Crisp spine with clearly legible “Rubber Soul - The Beatles” printing.

- Crisp corners with just the tiniest hints of bumping that only becomes barely noticeable upon close scrutiny. The bottom-right corner on the front of the sleeve has a more noticeable (but still minor) crinkle (see picture within collage).

- The delicate laminate is still firmly adhered with some very small areas around the edges where faint signs of very thin, hairline wrinkles become noticeable only if you were to tilt the cover at an angle against bright light and inspect it extremely closely (see picture within collage).

- Some very faint creasing along the bottom of John Lennon’s brown suede jacket that again, only becomes visible if you were to tilt the cover at an angle against a strong light (see picture within collage).

- An extremely faint line mark within the dark shadow under John Lennon’s chin. This is nearly impossible to photograph because it is nearly invisible and only shows up when viewing from a specific angle under optimal light (see picture within collage)

- An extremely small, faint wrinkle to the laminate right around the top of Paul McCartney’s head (near the part of his hair) that’s barely noticeable even under strong light and viewing at an angle (see picture within collage)

- The back un-laminated cover has retained its fresh, brilliant white finish. No creasing. Just some very minor hairline wrinkles on some parts of the laminated flipback edge. An outstanding example of this delicate back cover which has defied its 57 year existence. Quite stunning.

- The opening side edge is straight with no significant dents, rips, or nicks. Just some extremely mild “feathering” which is really more noticeable on the back cover portion.

- No “Stereo” print on front cover

VINYL:

- Side 1 Matrix YEX 178-2; “C” stamped on left side of runout and “GT” stamped on right side of runout.

- Side 2 Matrix YEX 179-2; “L” stamped on right side of runout.

- Correct large “Stereo” Text above the yellow “Parlophone” logo on the label (Note: the second pressing and beyond have much smaller “Stereo” print).

- “Sold in U.K.” text under the “Parlophone” logo on the label.

- “The Gramophone Co LTD…” text around the outer perimeter of the label.

- Still after 57 years, the vinyl retains a rich, deep and shiny gloss. No significant scratches or marks. If you were to tilt the vinyl at just the right angle against direct sunlight, some minor, superficial, ultra-fine, wispy hairline marks become visible which are otherwise undetectable under normal light.

ORIGINAL “EMITEX” INNER SLEEVE:

- Excellent. Some unavoidable wrinkling due to the fragility of the factory design. Some faint yellowing from age.
