STRANGE

This heavy Florida-based seventies psychedelic rock outfit is worthy of investigation.  All of the material is written (or in one case co-written), arranged, directed  and produced by Terry Brooks, and pretty mindblowing some of it is too.  Inspired by the guitar playing of Jimi Hendrix and the west coast acid rock scene of the 60s,  US solo artist Terry Brooks recorded three albums for Star People Records in the early 80s.  With Brooks on guitar and vocals, John Kotch on keyboards, Donnie Capetta on bass and Jim Chapman on drums,  his album, To Earth With Love, set an agenda for space-fixated lyrics akin to early Hawkwind.  The musical backing on this and two subsequent albums added extended  improvisational jams to pilot Brooks’ otherworldly concepts.
