Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is the seventh studio album by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on April 11, 1988. It is a conceptual album about the story of a seer; the seventh son of a seventh son, who would have psychic abilities such as clairvoyance and other mancias. Each song recounts a section of the life of this character, from the birth "Moonchild", the discovery of his powers and his destiny "Can I Play with Madness" and his imminent death "Only The Good Die Young". As in their previous album, Somewhere in Time, the use of synthesizers prevails, which during the tour were executed by the assistant technician of Steve Harris, musician and sound engineer; Michael Kennedy. Although the album is conceptual, the lyrics of the songs also implicitly contain certain social and political criticism that is more characteristic of other albums by the band. This album is considered one of the great masterpieces of Iron Maiden, and that allowed to redefine Heavy Metal, all of which was crowned with the greatest Monsters of Rock of all time made in England.
