Remain in Light is the fourth studio album by American new wave band Talking Heads, released in October 1980 on Sire Records. It was recorded in the Bahamas and the United States between July and August 1980, and produced by the group's frequent collaborator, Brian Eno. The album reached number 19 on the US Billboard 200 and number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. Two of their songs were released as singles: "Once in a Lifetime" and "Houses in Motion". The album was certified gold in the United States and Canada during the 1980s. Remain in Light was widely acclaimed by critics. Praise focused on its cohesive fusion of disparate genres and sonic experimentation. The album has been placed on various lists of the best albums of the '80s and the best albums of all time and is often considered Talking Heads' magnum opus. In 2020, the album was ranked 39th in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
