DESCRIPTION

Jethro Tull - “20 Years Of Jethro Tull” Chrysalis Records VX2 41655 / R200817 (Stereo) from 1988. Hard to find Original 1988 First Pressing BMG Record Club Edition Progressive / Glam / Folk / Art / Pop Rock album from Jethro Tull featuring Ian Anderson along with Martin Barre, Glen Cornick, Clive Bunker, John Evan, Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond, Barrimore Barlow, Dave Pegg, Peter Vettese, Gerry Conway, Don Airey and more. Consists of Radio Archive and Rare tracks, Live Recordings of some favorites and Unreleased tracks. A great overview! In the Original Gatefold Cover with NO Cutouts, Promo Markings of Barcode! This is the BMG Record Club Edition which as far as I know is the same as the standard edition except that it does not have the Barcode on the back and instead has a Record Club name and address as well as a second Catalog Number “R 200817” which is also on the labels. This version was made and printed in Canada but is an American release. I am not able to determine where the standard version was manufactured.

CONDITION

The Gatefold Sleeve is in nice shape. There is a very slight touch of shelf wear and corner softening and a “Made In Canada” sticker on the back, otherwise pretty much perfect. Super solid with no splits, stains, writing, tears, cutouts, etc. and would easily rate at least VG+ if not better. The Vinyl is in pristine Glossy condition looking very lightly played. If you really look closely you can spot a handful slight scuffs but still close to New condition. EX to Near Mint visually and plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through so I think that is a fair grade. The Labels are also Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. I provide Play Grades as a courtesy but only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
