ABOUT THE RECORD Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits was released in 1972, two years after the duo had disbanded. The album was a mix of original studio recordings and four previously unreleased live recordings. Their Greatest Hits collection features, Mrs. Robinson which topped the charts aided by its appearance in the hit movie The Graduate. The Sound of Silence and Bridge over Troubled Water which both peaked at No. 1, and The Boxer which peaked at No. 7. The album peaked on the U.S. albums chart at No. 5 and has sold over 14 million copies in the U.S. alone. It holds the record, in the U.S., for the best-selling album by a duo.
