Avalancha is the title of the fourth and last studio album by the Spanish rock group Héroes del Silencio. It was recorded at Soundcastle Studios in Los Angeles, California, produced by Andrew Jackson and Bob Ezrin. The EMI record company released it on September 18, 1995. The sound engineer was Andrew Jackson and the assistant engineer, Chris Roberts. This album marked a notable difference in the musical style of the band with respect to the previous albums Paths of treason (1990) and The Spirit of Wine (1993). On the other hand, the Mexican guitarist Alan Boguslavsky was officially presented as a member of the group and was baptized by Enrique Bunbury as "El Azteca de Oro". The lyrics denote a concern or a way of feeling regarding social issues: apathy, overwhelm, greed, the feelings of the people who fly the flag of stagnation, emerge on this album. Avalanche invites a change. Not only does it show the maturity of the group, musically speaking, but it invites people not to remain silent, to stand up and break the chains of oppression. Full of energy, this LP features much more powerful guitars that demonstrate Juan Valdivia's fondness for Hard rock, embodied in each riff on his guitar. There are also influences from grunge bands like Soundgarden or Alice in Chains. It is the most powerful and "North American" album by Héroes del Silencio, and also, for some, the one that has best withstood time thanks to its production. An authentic classic in a fantastic deluxe edition with special booklet for collectors (please refer to photos for all the details of the booklet).
