DESCRIPTION

Caustic Resin - “Fly Me To The Moon” Up Records  UP 017 (Stereo) from 1995. Hard to find Original U.S. First Pressing Translucent Vinyl Punk / Alternative / Indie / Grunge / Pop Rock Double album from Caustic Resin featuring James Dillion, Brett Netson, Tom Romich - all also from Built To Spill - and guest Kevin Finch. Produced by Phil Ek. In the Original Gatefold Cover with NO Cutouts or Promo markings. This is a First Pressing (and I believe only…?) and is pressed on Vinyl that appears Black but is Translucent Brown when held before a strong light - I think it is probably an Audiophile type vinyl like Quiex II or possibly KC 569 Blend Premium Virgin Vinyl. The LP is not marked as a Promo but I understand that many record companies during this era would make small initial runs on Audiophile Vinyl that were sent to Radio Stations so I think that might be what this is. Includes the Original Insert Sheet.

CONDITION

The Gatefold Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear and corner softening/wear. Still super solid with no splits, stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate at least VG and maybe better. The Vinyl is in Pristine Glossy condition looking barely played. If you look closely you might be able to spot a couple light scuffs but very close to New condition and easily Near Mint. The labels have a couple light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint. The insert is also Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. I provide Play Grades as a courtesy but only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
