Van Halen is the debut album by the American hard rock group Van Halen, released in 1978. Although the album is among the 20 best sellers in the 1970s, with more than 11 million copies sold worldwide. Despite the fact that the album sounds as if it were live, it is a studio album in which the producer, Ted Templeman, introduced echoes and added effects that give it forcefulness. During the recording, a new technique was used for the solos: tapping, which consists of using both hands on the neck of the guitar, a technique popularized by Eddie Van Halen, who during the promotion of the album played the solos with his back to the public to Hide your technique. The album was included by Rolling Stone magazine at number 410 of the 500 best albums of all time. Definitely a classic album that you must have in your vinyl collection.
