El Libro Oculto is Rata Blanca's first EP, and their fourth album, released in 1993 by BMG. It is the first production of Rata Blanca for the company BMG Argentina, and was recorded between tours of the group. Due to its short duration (around 23 minutes) it can be classified as a mini-album or EP, and not as a full-length. This is the last album recorded by Adrián Barilari in his first stage with the group. Due to Barilari's departure, the EP was presented almost entirely by his replacement Mario Ian. It should be noted that this album, Entre el Cielo y la Tierra, shows a heavier sound than its predecessors, somewhat removed from Rata Blanca's traditional neoclassical metal and hard rock. The atypical sound of "El Libro Oculto" arose as a reaction, in the words of Walter Giardino.
