Richard Wagner: DER RING DES NIEBELUNGEN. 4 boxed sets of the four operas. A total of 16 LPs. Philips 6747 046/047/048/049. Recorded live at Bayreuth, released 1973, Stereo.
Karl Bohm conducting the Chorus & Orchestra of the Bayreuth Festival. Singers include Birgit Nilsson, Wolfgang Windgassen, Gustav Neidlinger, Theo Adam, James King, Leonie Rysanek, and others. A superb cast.
With two exceptions, the LPs are in near mint condition, bright with no scratches or scuffs. However, side 4 of Siegfried has a 1/2" scratch; and side 10 of Gotterdammerung has two 1" scratches. The scratches are not heavy, but may be audible.
The boxes are all VG+ to near fine, with bright gold stamping: some light wear and rubbing at the corners and edges. The programs/libretti are all excellent.
Note that there is a 1976 presentation note in an envelope to "Margie" from "Karl," though it is *not* Maestro Bohm!
I have several other Wagner operas on vinyl up for bid/sale. Always happy to combine postage.
