DESCRIPTION

Janet Jackson - “Janet” Virgin Records (UK) V 2720 / 0777 7 88065 1 6 (Stereo) from 1993. Hard to find Original 1993 UK First Pressing New Jack Swing / Funk / Soul / R&B / Pop / Hip-Hop / Rap double album from Janet Jackson featuring backing from Kathleen Battle, Chuck D, Ann Nesby, Core Cotton, Jamecia Bennett, Marie Graham and more. Produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis with one song Produced by Jellybean Johnson. In the Original Gatefold Cover with NO Cutouts or Promo Markings! Includes the Original Poly lined Inner Sleeves. To the best of my knowledge this album was never released in the U.S. on Vinyl until a 2019 reissue.

CONDITION

The Gatefold Sleeve is in great shape. There is a little bit of a crease in the upper right corner and some super slight corner softening. There is a factory “Made In England” sticker on the back. Still in close to New condtion and super solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, cutouts, etc. and would rate at least EX. The Vinyl is in pristine Glossy condition looking pretty much untouched and maybe Unplayed except on side 4 where there are a handful of marks including a couple of light but visible hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. If you look closely you might possibly spot a slight sleeve scuff or two on the first three sides but pretty much like New and easily Near Mint. Side 4 is still EX visually and plays perfectly Near Mint. I’m calling the LP EX but it is closer to NM overall. The labels are Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
