TU VE, the new and surprising album by Kevin Johansen, in which he covers and reverses his own songs and those of other artists, with the invitation of singers. This is how new interpretations of classic songs by Kevin appear, such as "Tú Ve" (by "Algo ritmos", 2019) together with the Mexican Natalia Lafourcade, an English version of "Anoche soñé " Contigo (from "Logo", 2007), in duet with David Byrne, Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" together with Jorge Drexler and "Desde Que Te Perdí" (from "City Zen", 2004) in collaboration with Silvia Pérez Cruz, among others. In addition, Kevin Johansen is encouraged with special enthusiasm and a healthy dose of irreverence to tackle material as varied as "A Little Respect " by Erasure, "El Albertío" by Violeta Parra, "El cielo" by Talking Heads, "Orón al tiempo" by Caetano Veloso, "16 Tons" by Merle Travis, and "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed. is a rarity in his career, since on previous albums he included versions of songs like Modern Love" by David Bowie, and live has done all kinds of covers. A key to this new album is that it is a sincere and finished reflection of the "Kevin universe", where collaborations are perceived as games and meetings between friends and colleagues. Even if he goes from one style to another, or even from one language to another, his unique and personal voice always remains constant. The production was in charge of the multi-awarded Uruguayan Juan Campodónico (Bajofondo, Jorge Drexler, El Cuarteto de Nos), with co-production by the Argentine Diego Mema. The recording was made at the Zorzal studios in Montevideo, with some guest voices sent from New York, Barcelona and Veracruz, Mexico.
