American hip hop duo M.O.P hail from Brownsville, New York, and were active at the height of the golden era of rap and hip-hop. This is their still stunning debut album from 1994 and produced entirely by DR Period bar one track. It mixes up hardcore, East Coast and gangster rap tropes across 15 hard-hitting cuts all of which are vividly brought to life by East Coast rappers Billy Danze and Lil' Fame. The album, criminally, only had moderate success and it wasn't until 2000 that the band really found their fame rising. Revisiting this one now and it's clear they should have been stars from the off.
