Stavroz is a Belgium-based electronic music quartet that draws on a wide sphere of reference. Elements of artists as diverse as Nicolas Jaar, Radiohead and Fat Freddy's Drop colour their soundwaves. This album is propped up by plenty of rhythmic basslines and wandering grooves from the worlds of tech, minimal, jazz, house and more. There is beauty in the jazzy shuffle of 'Wintergreen', lazy propulsion in the lumpy groove of 'Jabrama' and expressive live drums and dark sax motifs in 'Off Planet.' All in all it makes for a fascinating listen.
