Queen is the debut studio album by the British band Queen. Released on July 13, 1973, by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States, it was recorded at Trident Studios and De Lane Lea Studios in London, co-produced by Roy Thomas Baker, John Anthony, and members from the band. The album was influenced by heavy metal and progressive rock. The lyrics are based on a variety of themes, including folklore "My Fairy King" - and religion - "Jesus" -. Lead vocalist Freddie Mercury wrote 5 of the 10 songs, lead guitarist Brian May wrote 4 (including "Doing All Right", which was co-written with Smile vocalist Tim Staffell), and drummer Roger Taylor wrote and sang " Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll". The album's closing song, a short instrumental version of "Seven Seas of Rhye", the final version appeared on their second studio album, Queen II. A deluxe edition of this album was issued in 2022 featuring a 180 Gram Vinyl and a unique Booklet with a fantastic photos and containing the history behind the album (booklet is in Spanish).
