Polish one-man black metal entity, Kekht Arakh, crafts a uniquely romantic, poetic yet utterly tortured form of raw, harrowing cacophony. Taking influence from the likes of lo-fi genre classics such as 'Filosofem' by Burzum, but imbuing the nightmarish soundscapes with melodious interludes, leads to a genuinely unsettling experience often lost in modern contributions to the scene. Preceding last year's acclaimed, 'Pale Swordsman', the tranquil hostility of 2019's 'Night & Love' paints a bleak sonic tapestry of depression, unrequited love and self-efficacy, mutilating disparate concepts and textures until they coalesce in harsh, hideous beauty.
