Auch wenn die Rockabilly Boys mehr als die Summe ihrer Teile sind, ist weniger mehr. Elvis brauchte kein Schlagzeug und das Gleiche gilt für die Rockabilly Boys. Das unbestreitbar hochkarätige Trio aus Miku Majuri (Rhythmusgitarre), Timo Kalijärvi (Leadgitarre) und Iikku Riepponen (Doghouse-Bass) hat sich mit der Bescheidenheit eines Pfaus und einem starken Katalog an selbst geschriebenem Material an die Grundelemente des frühen Rockabilly - Country und Western mit einem Hauch von Rhythm and Blues - angelehnt.
Die Band, die aus einer Vielzahl anderer Bands bekannt ist, schweißt zusammen, und obwohl sie pedantisch ist, sind ihre Live-Shows voller Freude und entspannt. Sie sind seit 17 Jahren zusammen. Es ist wohl ein Zufall, dass ihr Debütalbum so lange gebraucht hat, aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt. Kalis extrem authentische Gitarrenarbeit und Iikkus raue, aber dennoch perfekte Slap-Technik haben Miku eine fantastische Möglichkeit gegeben, Songs zu schreiben, die etwas außerhalb des traditionellen Rockabilly-Rahmens liegen. Die fast schon fanatische Einstellung zum 50er-Jahre-Feeling macht es umso interessanter.
