Here's a real gem of cool jazz from the late 70s, lovingly repressed by Real Gone to derail the sharks and get the music back in the hands of the true fans. Herb Ellis was a celebrated US jazz guitarist who worked with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong and Oscar Peterson to name but a few. Remo Palmieri's own heritage as a six-stringer was considerable, if not quite as extensive as Ellis', but the two created a stunning combination on this album of mellow magic. The tone is pure and voluptuous, with Ron Traxler's drums and George Duvivier's bass providing just the lightest of backbones to let the leads entwine their delicate guitar lines.
