Criminally underrated and overlooked, San Francisco Bay Area tech-thrash titans, Forbidden, are often heralded as one of the genre's true outlier staples that contributed to the scene's endless expansion into several other forms of sonic assault. Their fourth full-length, 'Green', released in 1997 following the departure of members including Rob Flynn who would go on to become a figurehead in his own right as the mastermind behind Machine Head; this offering served as somewhat of a rebirth with the group steering away from their pre-determined formula in order to purse a much heftier, groove metal oriented style. The final work of their original tenure before reconvening for the 2010 swansong, 'Omega Wave'; this project is the sound of a classic era of metal being manipulated and pushed to unusual extremes, that has only gone on to inspire many modern-day acts, regardless of what the footnotes tell you.
