Hello from purplegallinule - I am a vinyl enthusiast and have been buying, selling and trading records since the mid-1970s and I have always applied high standards and taken extremely good care of my records.
All the records are wet vacuum cleaned before being thoroughly play tested and housed in brand new high quality poly-lined inner and protective outer sleeves.
Although considerably more of a music fan than an expert, I certainly know my way around vinyl records well enough to say that you can buy from me with confidence and with also being a collector, my eBay policy is simple - if I wouldn't be happy to slide absolutely any of these records straight into my own cherished personal collection then they will not be listed for sale on here - all I would ask of you is for a chance to put things right in the unlikely event that you are not fully satisfied.
All records are sent out a.s.a.p. and packaged thoroughly in bespoke mailers with rigid card stiffeners to avoid any creasing or bumped corners and I am always very happy to combine postage.
Please note that I grade everything as 'Excellent' for the purposes of the listing as gradings are so subjective I personally never pay them much attention so please see the details below for an appraisal of this record.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Details about this specific record: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds' - original 1978 vinyl album in excellent condition. The run outs are etched 'CBS-S-980001 A3/B1/C6/D1', '82671 A3/B1', '82672 A6/B1' and 'Bilbo'.
The vinyl is in just about pristine condition with only the very faintest of wispy superficial hairlines, if absolutely any at all, visible in bright light and the playback is simply flawless. I am listening to the album as I type this, currently side 3 - 'The Red Weed' and the audio is just superb, clean, powerful and with all of the crispness and detail characteristic of the audio delivered from high quality, well cared for vinyl and the sound currently filling my lounge is just exquisite. As a Thin Lizzy fan, 'The Spirit of Man' has always been my favourite passage of this album with Phil Lynott playing the part of Parson Nathaniel alongside Julie Covington as his wife, Beth.
The iconic heavy card gatefold sleeve is in pristine condition with barely a hint of wear.
There is a 16 page full colour booklet, almost the size of the gatefold cover itself, included with this album which features absolutely stunning Geoff Taylor, Mike Trim and Peter Goodfellow artwork along with extensive sleeve notes on the performers and is a really worthy accompaniment to the enjoyment of this absolute masterpiece of a record.
The vinyls are now housed in brand new poly-lined inner sleeve for safekeeping though the original standard CBS issue inners are included for completeness.
I'd have to say that if there's a better stone cold original 1978 copy of this album than this anywhere then I'd like to see it - the stylish packaging is in fabulous shape and the absolutely immaculate vinyl delivers the most delightfully pin sharp audio.
SORRY - NO 'BUY-IT-NOW' OPTION AS I ALWAYS ALLOW MY AUCTIONS TO RUN.

Please take a little time to study the photos which are of the actual record for sale. Obviously without the option of physically being able to pick the record up and assess it with your own eyes, the 'zoom' function via the thumbnails is particularly useful here as a tool for evaluating the true condition of the item, though I will always aim to highlight anything regarding its condition in the descriptions which I myself would want to be aware of prior to considering making a purchase.
I have some other nice records currently listed with lots of others coming up over the next few weeks.
