Romances — also known as Romance III and Third Romance — is the twelfth studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel, released on August 12, 1997 by the WEA Latina label. It is part of the Romance series in which the interpreter covers Latin songs published between 1940 and 1978. Its production was in charge of Luis Miguel, the arranger Bebu Silvetti and the singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero, who directed all the Romance albums of the interpreter. The album contains twelve versions and two unreleased compositions by Armando Manzanero and Bebu Silvetti, of which twelve are boleros, while "Uno" and "Mañana de carnaval (Manhã De Carnaval)" are a tango and a bossa nova theme, respectively. Its recording took place in early 1997, at the Ocean Way Recording studios in Los Angeles, California and The Hit Factory in New York. Romances sold more than 4.5 million copies and received platinum certifications in the United States, Spain and several Latin American countries. To promote it, a tour was held that covered the aforementioned territories. The album had a good critical reception, focused on the voice of Luis Miguel and the selection of songs. He also garnered several accolades, including a Grammy Award in the United States.
