Up for sale is a very scarce 78 rpm shellac 10 inch record, made in Mexico, and featuring two lively numbers.
The two songs on this record have a lot of energy, display great musicianship, and are very entertaining.

One side: Me Lo Dijo Adela (Otilio Portal) - Cha Cha Cha Side Number: 12616-54 Wax matrix marks: "12616-54". Also "HECHO EN MEXICO" and "MADE IN MEXICO"
Ohter side: Oyela Y Cantala (Chucho Rodriguez) - Bolero/Mambo Side Number: 12620-54 Wax matrix marks: "12620-54". Also "HECHO EN MEXICO" and "MADE IN MEXICO"
"Me Lo Dijo Adela" (or "Adela Told Me") was probably the most famous song written by the Cuban born Otilio Portal (1915 - 2009). It was a great hit as performed by Bobby Capo. The melody was recast as an "American" song, still a chacha, retitled as "Sweet and Gentle" that was performed by Georgia Gibbs, Eartha Kitt, and Alan Dale (whose rendition charted at #10 in 1955).
This obscure record is part of the Strachwitz Frontera Collection of Mexican and Mexican American Recordings, which is a joint project of the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Project and the Arhoolie Foundation.
