Hi and thanks for looking at my listing.
The LP has been owned by me from new and rarely, and very carefully, played
THE BEATLES
HELP!
NEAR MINT - RARE FIRST EVER 1964 UK MONO PRESS
RELEASED ON THE 1st BLACK & YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL
WITH “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print
and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text.
The centre text, "Sold In U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists" text was in effect between late February 1964 until mid 1969. During the summer of 1965, EMI's subsidiary labels changed their perimeter copyright text, on albums replacing the name of the subsidiary label to 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD'. As this is pre "Gramophone" it is therefore 1964 as it is "Parlophone" label.
" Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. "
ALSO INCLUDES
ORIGINAL EMITEX INNER SLEEVE
FIRST EVER 1964 PRESS UK MATRICES
Matrix / Runout (Side A, stamped): XEX 549-2 Matrix / Runout (Side B, stamped): XEX 550-2CONDITION
RECORD IS VIRTUALLY MINT. LOVELY WITH A DEEP GLOSSY SHEEN TO THE VINYL SURFACES WHICH ARE CLEAN AND BRIGHT. IT WAS OBVIOUSLY PLAYED VERY CAREFULLY IN THE LAST 59 YEARS, SUPERB !!!
I CAN ONLY SEE A COUPLE OF EXTREMELY SMALL FEINT SLEEVE REMOVAL MARKS/ HAIRLINES IN TOTAL ACROSS BOTH SIDES AND ONLY WHEN VINYL IS TILTED, UNDER A STRONG LIGHT, VIRTUALLY INVISABLE. NO EFFECT AT ALL ON MY AUDIO PLAYBACK, LOVELY CONDITION !!! (SEE PICS). A GREAT AUDIO EXPERIENCE WHEN PLAYTESTED ON MY TURNTABLE.
THE CENTRE LABELS ARE IN SUPER CONDITION (SEE PICS) WITH VIRTUALLY NO SPINDLE MARKS TO THE DISC CENTRE EACH SIDE.
THE VERY FIRST PRINT OUTER SLEEVE IS REALLY GOOD OVERALL WITH JUST A FEW SMALL CREASES ON THE EDGES A LITTLE COLOUR AGING WHICH IS TO BE EXPECTED AFTER 60YEARS. THE RECORD ITSELF IS VIRTUALLY MINT TO EXCELLENT ++ (SEE PICS)
A FULLY LEGIBLE SPINE,
MINIMAL CORNER RUB, CLEAN
ALL OPENING EDGES ARE STRONG AND DEFINED
THE NEAR MINT GRADE CORRECT FIRST PRESS, EMITEX RICE PAPER POLYLINED INNER SLEEVE IS EXCELLENT WITH NO SPLITS JUST VERY SLIGHT COLOUR AGEING (SEE ALL PICS)
SO, IN CONCLUSION, NOT ONLY A VERY RARE SUPERB CONDITION LP FROM 1964 UK FIRST EVER MONO PRESS, BUT IMPORTANTLY THE VINYL LOOKS & SOUNDS SUPERB !!!! SO PLEASE DONT MISS OUT !!
