On 15th August 1983, WEA Records released the debut 7” single by their new signing Howard Jones. Entitled ‘New Song’, this perfect piece of pop music reached No.3 in the UK singles chart and No.27 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart when released the following year in 1984.
It was the beginning of an amazing and stellar recording career for Howard Jones that celebrates its 40th anniversary later this year. To mark this momentous
occasion, Cherry Red are releasing a very limited white vinyl 7” single version of Howard’s debut single.
