■Anselmet, a famous conductor who built an era with his elaborate and colorful performances

As the conductor of Diaghilev's Russian Ballet, the famous Swiss conductor Ernest Ansermet (1883-1969) performed Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale," "The Warbler," "Pulcinella," Falla's "Three-cornered Hat," and Prokofiev's "The Clown." He premiered important works of the first half of the 20th century, such as ``Parades'' and Satie's ``Parades,'' and above all, as the founder (in 1919) and music director of the Orchester de la Suisse Romande, he helped develop this orchestra into a worldwide presence. It is known for. Since 1946, he has made a huge amount of recordings for the Decca label, with which he had an exclusive contract, covering French music, Russian music, 20th century music, and even German and Austrian music. Among them, many were highly acclaimed in the LP era due to their excellent recording technology (FFRR = full frequency range recording in the monaural era, wideband recording = FFSS = full frequency stereo sound in the stereo era). there is.

■Anselme's ultimate Spanish food

This album is a historical masterpiece that has received particularly high praise among Anselme's many recordings, and was considered to be the representative record of "tricorn hat" throughout the LP era. Recorded in 1961, it was the first re-recording for Anselme, who premiered this song, since the mono recording in 1952, and it also became a hot topic for featuring Teresa Berganza, who was at the time of her debut. A famous recording made by James Walker, the producer who was responsible for Anselmet's recordings during the stereo era, and Roy Wallace, the father of Decca's stereo recordings. The intermezzo and dance from the opera ``Evanescent Life'' were included in the first LP.

■Great recording at Victoria Hall, the legendary hall used by Decca.

The recordings for Decca by Ansermet and the Orchester de Suisse Romande were basically made at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, which was the orchestra's home base. Built in the 19th century by the British Consul General in Geneva, this hall boasted excellent acoustics and was perfect for recording. Decca's first stereo recording was R-Korsakov's Symphony No. 2 "Antar" by Anselmet/Suisse Romande, recorded at this Victoria Hall on May 13, 1954, and since then it has been recorded at this legendary hall. Many famous recordings were created.

In Japan, the ``tricorn hat'' has long been popular for its jacket featuring a painting by Goya, which is different from the British original first edition, but this time, the cover used for the first British edition is a dancer standing in a plaza at sunset. The design is based on a picture.

■Analog records in the best condition possible at present

This analog record has been newly mastered exclusively for analog records using "Esoteric Mastering" from the original master. Using ESOTERIC's carefully tuned top-of-the-line Master Sound Discrete DAC, Master Sound Discrete Clock, and MEXCEL cables, we have created a master that aims for extremely high sound quality.

Analog cutting was done at Mixers Lab using the Neumann Cutting Lace VMS80, a famous machine from the heyday of analog. This machine was manufactured in West Germany during the heyday of analog records, and currently there are only two in operation in Japan.

With the cooperation of Mixer's Lab, we brought "Esoteric Mastering" equipment into the cutting room and connected the output directly to a Neumann cutting console SP79C. The "Esoteric Mastering" sound is sent directly to the cutting process without using the console's equalizer.

The cutting was done by Katsutoshi Kitamura, a cutting engineer from Mixers Lab. His craftsmanship was poured into the master disc.

Nowadays, we only cut master discs for record pressing, and rarely cut lacquer discs just for listening purposes, but at Esoteric, in order to pursue sound quality, we cut multiple lacquer discs by changing the transmission method to the console. is created.

The multiple lacquer discs we created were taken back to Esoteric Mastering Center, where we listened to them on Esoteric's Grandioso T1 analog turntable and checked the sound quality, and decided on the best transmission method.

It was created with a thorough focus on analog sound, and succeeded in converting the information of the original master into an analog record with a relaxed sound.
