Next year, metal pioneers Judas Priest will celebrate FIFTY years since their debut album 'Rocka Rolla' was released. And the interesting thing about that first album is the artwork caused a major cola company to issue a cease and desist order to NOT use that likeness on future copies. So the artwork was changed. But like all things banned, a several copies made it to stores and homes!

The likeness is too close to that cola company (whose name rhymes with 'Rocka Rolla') logo, and with the bottle cap and all...it just wasn't going to fly! Last pic is what the artwork got changed to. It's kind of silly compared to the original cover! Lol But in 1983, FORTY years ago, a company in France was allowed to release the original cover album, on a limited edition picture disc. And up for grabs today is a copy of that import pic disc!

This will come in a plain and clear PVC jacket. The A side is the cover that they made Priest change, and the B side is song titles, band pics, and credits. The vinyl looks really, really good, as all I see are a few very light surface marks. Nothing bad, and hardly noticable. No deep scratches, gouges, or scuffs. I can't vouch for the sound quality, as I never play specialty vinyl, such as pic discs or colored records. And the sound quality was always pretty bad with these older picture discs. But it's still a great souvenir to have, and to acknowledge a band that's still going strong, nearly FIFTY years since the debut album was released!
