Swedish progressive rockers Agusa deliver four new odysseys, implicitly inspired by the four classical elements: earth, water, air, and fire. Skillful musicianship, intricate arrangements, and improvisational flair all combine to create an organic, developed sound evoking the natural world, as well as cycles of death, decay, rebirth and growth inherent to the mortal coil. Though, in contrast to usual pastoral idylls assocated with natural processes, Agusa are unafraid of drawing parallels between nature and danger, embarking on rampant freakouts and sublime thrashings. Indeed, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and avalanches are part of the natural world too. A great addition to the band's already monumental catalogue.
