In 1971, British rock and blues legendary bad boys the Rolling Stones released their thirteenth studio album, and called it 'Sticky Fingers'. The cover is the torso of an uncredited model (and NOT Mick Jagger as some believed). The first version had a working zipper that unzipped, and showed white underwear underneath. The zipper proved to be costly, and retailers complained that it damaged the vinyl when stacked. Eventually, the working zipper was gone forever. Or was it...?
No, of course it wasn't! It was brought back in 1995, for the vinyl reissue. This is NOT the original early 70s release, nor am I trying to sell it as such. This is the 1995 version, and yes, the zipper works. You can see something white inside, but it's not exactly the same as the first edition. It does have a nice inner sleeve, with a great band pic on one side, and the classic tongue and lips logo, with song titles and credits, on the flip side.
The vinyl itself has surface marks on it. Which it shouldn't, but whoever I bought this from obviously didn't take care of it. It's being sold for the artwork, as the jacket is close to immaculate! Front AND back. Inner sleeve is also in a like-new condition. For superior sound, find the deluxe edition (one of a few deluxe editions, actually), and hear this remastered. Available almost everywhere, and for only a few dollars. Early seventies rock never sounded so good!
This is, again, for the artwork. Vinyl has a nice scratch or two that will cause this to sound terrible. But the artwork, taken from the original release, with a real zipper, that really zips, is great! And would make a great conversation piece, or even hanging up on the wall. And watch someone walk up to it, and try to unzip it!
