RARE LED ZEPPELIN III ORG 1970 1st Press 2nd Variant in EX+/VG+ Condition
Welcome to my listings.
To all overseas bidders Please read before bidding. I will not falsify any information when sending custom declarations ( So please do not message me and ask that I do so ). I will indicate the true value of any item that has been sold. Buyers are responsible for all Customs Duty/Import Charges in their own country. The responsibility is not mine. No exceptions will be made.
All items are packed and dispatched in heavy duty LP mailers with cardboard reinforcements. I use heavy duty packaging tape. I always separate the LP from the sleeve and any inner sleeves that are part of the LP. This stops any damage to the item while in transit.
LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin III Rare and becoming increasingly harder to find genuine Original 1970 UK 10-track stereo LP, fully laminated E.J. Day gatefold sleeve with rotating picture wheel in fully working order. This is the first issue with 'Do What Thou Wilt' and 'So Mote It Be' hand-scratched in to the matrix area & second variant label without Peter Grant credit.
This is the first issue second label variant with no 'Executive Producer Peter Grant' credit.
Warner Bros. Music appears on the bottom of the label above 'Produced By Jimmy Page'.
Side One Track Three is listed as 'Celebration'.
The third label variant moved 'Produced by Jimmy Page' above the Warner credit and had corrected the 'Celebration' error.
PLAY GRADED:
Equipment used to test this LP was my Townshend Rock II turntable positioned on a Townshend Seismic Vibration Isolation Platform, with a Linn Ittok modified arm and Audio Technica VM95ML Shibata modified cartridge feeding through a Trilogy 906 phono stage positioned on a Townshend Seismic Sink. Amplification is a Lavardin IS amp positioned on a Townshend Seismic Vibration Isolation Platform. Speakers are bi-wired Nordost Blue Heaven Rev II Speaker Cable Impluse H6's positioned on Townshend Seismic Isolation Bars.
The LP was played through its entirety surface noise was evident through most of the tracks and the very quieter moments. It was slightly more evident on both opening tracks. There were no skips, jumps of mis-tracking. There was no distortion, while listening the music flowed with crystal clean clarity. If i was grading this LP out of 10 then I would confidently give it a 8.5 out of 10 playback.
Please note that this is a used item and there is always isolated static, ticks, light pops that maybe or can be heard, even in the quieter places during the play of any vinyl. There will be elements of surface noise.
THE COVER: The laminated gatefold cover shows virtually NO wear to the top and bottom edges plus spine. Because of the cover design the edges are protected due to the overhang of the covers single outer which shows light fethering. The spine has very light minimal creasing with the spine text clearly visible and readable. There are no signs of any other forms of damage. All corners have just very light minimal wear with light age related rounding and creasing. There is no damage to any of the die-cut windows with the picture wheel in fully working order. There is no damage to the lamination. The covers surface has only the lightest of surface storage scuffing and very light creasing. I have graded the cover in EXCELLENT++ condition.
THE BACK COVER: The back cover reflects the front and reveals no damage at all. I have graded the back cover again in EXCELLENT++ condition.
THE INNER SLEEVE: Plain white protected inner.
THE VINYL: Both sides of this vinyl LP still retains all of there original lustre and sheen with no dulling and in daylight still looks amazing. Placed under a 100w bulb there are no deep scratches to any side of this triple LP. There are fine hairline marks to both of the surfaces. I have graded this LP in VERY GOOD + condition.
Side 1 in VERY GOOD+ condition. Side 2 in VERY GOOD+ condition.
THE LABELS: The labels are in EXCELLENT+ condition and showing very light minimal spindle marks around the central spindle hole.
