1983 was a busy year for international superstar David Bowie. The two main milestones of that year was the release of his multi million selling smash hit album 'Let's Dance' and the release of the movie 'The Hunger', which he starred in (with Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon). The album sold almost ELEVEN MILLION copies worldwide, but the movie didn't do so well. In that movie, Bowie plays a vampire...regardless of ticket sales (or lack thereof), it's a really good movie!

'Let's Dance' was the soundtrack to the 80s! The videos were in heavy rotation on MTV, and the songs were played regularly on rock and pop radio. And the best part? Stevie Ray Vaughan plays guitar on this masterpiece! This was the album that made Stevie Ray a star. Bowie wanted him to go on tour after the album was released, but Stevie Ray politely declined so he could work on his own career. (RIP to both Bowie and Stevie Ray. Both of you were amazing musicians, pioneers of musical styles and cutting edge sounds, influenced countless others, and are missed!)

Up for grabs today is a pair of David Bowie picture disc LPs! The first is a 12" record of that 80s landmark album 'Let's Dance', with the original album's artwork on the A side, including song titles, and a shot of Bowie in concert on the B side. (The Serious Moonlight Tour '83!) The vinyl has many light surface marks on it, but nothing too bad. No heavy scratches, gouges, or scuffs. This will come in a generic, clear PVC jacket. I can't vouch for the sound quality, as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. A very cool Bowie collectible!

'The Hunger' picture disc is actually the film's soundtrack, and doesn't feature music from Bowie. But since he's in the movie, he's on the picture disc (with co-star Catherine Deneuve). Looking dapper and smoking a cigarette, this is quintessential David Bowie! Vinyl looks really good, with only a few very light surface marks on it, mainly on the B side. Both of these picture discs are thick and heavy, and 180 gram vinyl.

Grab these vintage Bowie picture disc LPs before someone else does, and they're gone for good. We will never forget the genius of David Bowie, and his musical (and movie) legacy will live on forever!
