A Bob Marley & the Wailers album was released in 1983, and titled 'Confrontation'. It was the final studio album, released two years after the death of Bob Marley. It is actually tracks that were demos or unfinished and unreleased through Marley's life. And there's a big hit on this album: the catchy and groovin' song "Buffalo Soldiers". But to me, the artwork is the best thing about it!
The colors are amazing, and it's Marley as Saint George, from ancient times, fighting a dragon, which symbolizes Babylon in this painting. That's on the A side, and the B side is a nice pic of Marley, along with song titles and credits. Made in the UK, and released in '83, when the album came out. And as usual, a very limited number of these were made, then production was stopped...forever!
These can go for big buck$ here on eBay, but not today! These aren't easy to find on other vinyl selling sites, and they can go for top dollar amounts there, as well. The record itself has a few very light surface marks on it. I don't play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records, so I can't vouch for the sound quality. This comes in a clear generic PVC jacket.
Grab this rare and colorful Bob Marley vinyl picture disc LP while you still can. Marley collectibles are red hot again, as the biopic rockumentary (called 'Bob Marley: One Love') is now released (on 2/14/24).
"Beginnings are usually scary
And endings are usually sad
But it’s everything in between
That makes it all worth living.”
Robert Nesta Marley
