In 1982, hard rock legends Kiss released their tenth studio album, titled 'Creatures of the Night'. There are several very interesting facts about this album! First, it was their last album on the Casablanca label. (They even dedicated the album to Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca, who passed away from cancer.) The album has Ace Frehley on the original cover, even though he didn't play on the album...at all! Vinnie Vincent, who became an official member of Kiss, played most of the guitar parts (and even helped write a few songs). Other guitar parts were played by Robben Ford and Steve Farris (of Mr. Mister).

It was the last album and tour that Kiss wore the face paint, until they brought it back for 'Psycho Circus' in 1998, and the reunion with Ace and Peter Criss. The Canadian pop singer Bryan Adams and his songwriting partner Jim Valance wrote two of the heaviest songs that Kiss has ever done: "War Machine" and "Rock and Roll Hell"! The album was reissued in 1985 with Kiss not wearing makeup, and guitarist Bruce Kulick on the cover (Bruce doesn't play on the album.) There's even a  rare version from South America that adds Vinnie's face, with his ankh makeup, instead of Ace's face!

I'm today's great deal, you'll get a copy of the rare 1995 reissue, on  Mercury Records, in a special gatefold jacket with the song lyrics! And it's on a heavy 180 gram vinyl. (This is not the original Dutch fan club edition.) A limited number of these were made, so they can go for big buck$ here on eBay. But not here, and not today! I'll even throw in a bonus Kiss picture disc!

You'll get a 12" picture disc LP for the 'Alive!' album, but with limited tracks, as the live album was actually two LPs. The original album's artwork is on the A side, with a crowd scene and fans on the B side. (Along with song titles.) This looks to be a really rare Mexican Kiss Army limited release...

Both records are a thick and heavy 180 gram vinyl! 'Creatures of the Night' looks fantastic, and is shiny and clean. The gatefold jacket is also in really great shape. The 'Alive!' pic disc is looking great, and has a nice shine to it, as well! The 'Alive!' record will come in a generic clear jacket. I can't vouch for the sound quality of them both, as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. 'Creatures' may sound fine, as it came out in the mid 90s, right around the time that they began working the bugs out of picture discs. And I like the fact that they removed that silly pink bottom part from the original 80s Dutch release! This one, without it, looks so much better...

I'll even add some insurance, as the postal service seems to be manhandling packages lately. (Or running late, so please have some patience.) Kiss merch is always a good thing to have. Those guys have been rocking the world for over FIFTY years now, and recently hit the end of the road. They may perform again here and there (or not), but it looks like there will be no more touring. And who can blame them? I hate to see them go, but glad that I got to see them several times through the years. The tour for 'Creatures' had them play in the Superdome, in New Orleans, after a Mardi Gras parade that ended in the Dome! That show was wild!!

(RIP Eric Carr and Neil Bogert. Neil helped make the band become a world wide sensation, and Eric drummed like there was no tomorrow. Both of you were important parts of the Kiss legacy, and both of you are missed!)
