Libertango is both a record and a song by Argentine tango composer and musician Astor Piazzolla, recorded and published in 1974 in Milan. The song "Libertago" was covered by many different artists all over the world. Its title is a word composed of the terms "freedom" and "tango", presumably as a banner of the creative freedom that Piazzolla sought when creating the so-called new tango, as opposed to classic tango.
