Ozzy Osbourne has been in the spotlight again recently, as he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the second time. He was first given that honor with Black Sabbath in 2006, then again this year for his solo career. Sabbath began their decades long career with ten years of Ozzy, (1970-1979), then continued on with different singers through the years. Ozzy began his solo career in 1980, and never looked back! Those original four Black Sabbath members occasionally got back together, for Live Aid in 1985, then for Ozzfest, when Ozzy tried to retire and did a farewell tour, many years ago. (That was chronicled on the 1993 album 'Live & Loud'. And he didn't retire at the time!)

Black Sabbath reformed once again in 1998 for the 'Reunion' album, which is classic live Sabbath tracks plus two new studio songs. The studio album '13' was released in 2013, but it didn't have original drummer Bill Ward onboard, like on the 'Reunion' album. (Drummer Brad Wilk from Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage played drums on '13'. Ozzy and LA Rats drummer Tommy Clufetos was the drummer on the tour.) This tour went from 2012 to 2014. I got to see this concert, and these guys were rockin', and rockin' hard!

Sabbath did a final farewell tour lasting a little over a year, from 2016 to 2017. Once again, drummer Tommy Clufetos joined them. Ozzy himself has released two more solo albums since then, but has pretty much retired from touring recently. A final couple of shows were being planned in the UK, but I don't think that has happened yet. Ozzy's been experiencing health issues lately, and it's probably time for him to retire. (And trust me, I hate saying that!) For good this time, so he can take care of himself, kick back and relax, and spend time with his family...

In 1988, Ozzy released his fifth studio album, and called it 'No Rest For the Wicked'. It features a young fresh faced kid on guitar (named Zakk Wylde), Randy Castillo (who passed away in 2002) on drums, and Bob Daisley on bass. Daisley played bass, and helped write songs, on the first three Ozzy studio albums, then on and off through the years. He left before Ozzy could tour for this album. Geezer Butler, bassist from Sabbath, took his place on tour!

One of the singles from 'No Rest For the Wicked'' is a track called "Miracle Man". A limited edition shaped picture disc single for this song (plus the B side track "Crazy Babies") was released on Halloween of 1988. And the shape is Ozzy's head. From the album's cover. But wearing a crown of thorns! Ozzy raised a few eyebrows with this one, along with the album cover's artwork. The song "Miracle Man" is making fun of televangelists that cry on TV after they've screwed up. Looking at you, Jimmy! (Check out the video, it's pretty wild.)

These were made in an extremely limited number, and released in the UK. They're really hard to find, and I didn't see any other copies for sale here on eBay, or on other sites for sale (in the US). This copy has a few light surface marks on both sides, but mostly on the B side, the side with song titles and credits. (Was probably displayed.) I can't vouch for the sound quality as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. And these older picture discs from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s usually have plenty of surface noise, and sound bad. They were made to show off, and not necessarily to play.  An awesome vintage Ozzy vinyl collectible, nonetheless!

But if you know me, you know we're not done yet...I'll also add the Blu-ray of the fascinating documentary titled 'God Bless Ozzy Osbourne'! Executive produced by wife Sharon Osbourne, and produced by son Jack Osbourne. They interview Sharon, Tommy Lee, Zakk Wylde, Henry Rollins, Robert Trujillo, and of course, Ozzy himself. Purchase new and watched a couple of times, so in like new condition, both disc and case!

And to check out and appreciate the strange and offensive (to some) album cover artwork, I'll add a 12" X 12" poster flat of 'No Rest For the Wicked'! These were sent to record stores and radio stations to promote a new album. About the size of an vinyl LP jacket. (No vinyl record with it.) Same type of material used in album jackets (though not as thick). This copy has a small hole in each corner, plus a nice size hole in the top, and in Ozzy's first name. Now the majority of these flats that I sell are in immaculate condition, but since the single comes from this album, I thought I'd include the artwork. The holes can be fixed, you just have to get a little creative with it. The back is Ozzy's name, and the album's title. Other than the holes, no rips, tears or handwriting anywhere on it.

Snatch up this 3 piece of Ozzy collectibles before someone else rushes in and grabs it. Ozzy's fans love Ozzy merch (and I should know. I've collected MANY Ozzy items through the years)! We wish the best for Ozzy, no matter what he decides to do. We'll miss him on tour, but we also have several decades of memories of the "rock and roll madman" performing and working a crowd like few others could. Your music is a part of the soundtrack of our lives, Ozzy!

(RIP Randy Castillo. You drummed for Lita Ford forty years ago, and also worked with both Motley Crue and Vince Neil's band, as well as Bret Michaels' band. Your music with Ozzy is both classic and powerful. You are missed!)
