Atlanta fuzzed out garage-punks Upchuck found a kindred spirit in modern day psych wizard Ty Segall whilst enlisting his abilities behind the board to produce their 2023 sophomore effort Bite the Hand That Feeds. Beyond pleased with the resulting garage-core cacophony extrapolated from their recording sessions, the band couldn't help but ponder what their debut LP Sense Yourself would've sounded like in Segall's capable hands and understanding ears. One Christmas spent holed away with COVID later, and Segall had toyed with the stems enough to provide a remaster far more sonically in line with the buzzing mayhem of their follow up. Already growing into a modern-day classic within the scene due its soon-to-be-iconic artwork of vocalist KT hollering into the mic with a blood-soaked face following a shopping trolly being ushed into the mosh pit at their show, this new pressing of the band's debut serves as the definitive version, providing chaotic, dingy new avenues to drag hardcore's surprising malleability down. It even lands on a very appropriate blood splattered pressing.
