Picture sleeve 7" records are rarely released anymore. They gave way to CD singles, and then to streaming services. When they are released these days, it's usually to promote an artist's new music, and more of a novelty than anything else. But back in the 80s, a picture sleeve record was made to catch your eye in record stores, and to promote a single to radio stations. Up for grabs today is a pack of TEN vintage 80s picture sleeve singles!

We'll take a look at rock acts in this deal. First up is Australian rockers Kings of the Sun, and their single "Serpentine". It's like if you crossed The Cult (and their 'Electric' era sound) with The Georgia Satellites! A great song, from their 1988 debut self-titled album, produced by Eddie Kramer (who also produced Kiss, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and many more). Promo copy, so same song on both sides (so the DJ would never play the wrong song)! Next up is The Police, with "Synchronicity II", from the 1983 album "Synchronicity". Backed with "Once Upon a Daydream". Then we have The Rolling Stones, and their single "Harlem Shuffle", from their 1986 album 'Dirty Work'. Backed with "Had It With You".

Paul Rodgers, of Bad Company, Queen, and The Firm is at bat with his song "Morning After the Night Before". From his 1983 solo album 'Cut Loose'. Same song on both sides. Next is Jon Butcher, and his awesome song "Goodbye Saving Grace". From his 1987 album 'Wishes'. Promo copy, so same song both sides. By this time, Jon Butcher's band was no longer called The Jon Butcher Axis. Shortened to just his name, Jon Butcher. Next we have a single from the band Van Zant, which current Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant and his older brother Donnie Van Zant (of .38 Special) formed in the 80s. (Both are brothers of the deceased original singer Ronnie Van Zant from Skynyrd.) The single is a song called "You've Got to Believe in Love". From the 1985 album 'Van Zant'. Same song on both sides.

The band Yes released an album called 'Big Generator' in '87. The first single is a song called "Love Will Find a Way", and it's a really good track! This is a commercial release, so it's backed with "Holy Lamb". The Kinks are represented here today with the song "Rock 'n' Roll Cities', from their 1986 album 'Think Visual'. Backed with "Welcome to Sleazy Town".

FORTY years ago, Don Henley of The Eagles released his smash hit solo album titled 'Building the Perfect Beast'. One of the big hits from that awesome 80s effort is "All She Wants to Do Is Dance". That's here, and backed with the title track of the album. Last, we'll end with Roger Waters, formerly of Pink Floyd. This one is from his album 1987 album 'Radio K.A.O.S', and the single is "Sunset Strip". Same song both sides, so I'll add an extra Roger Waters 7" (in generic sleeve) for the song "Who Needs Information", also same song on both sides, and also from 'Radio K.A.O.S.'!

Each one of these were never played by me. Single records were usually made with a fragile vinyl and could be scratched with only one or two spins. A couple of these have light surface marks on them, but most are shiny and clean. The sleeves are showing signs of wear, but almost all are still looking really good. Picture sleeve singles have become cool collector's items, pieces of rock and roll history, and really nice works of art. Grab this bundle of TEN today!
