This is the (in)famous Butcher Cover version of the Beatles "Yesterday and Today" album.   Cat. No. ST-2553.   This is a 3rd State version, meaning the replacement, stick-on cover has been pealed off, leaving the image shown here.  Quite rare.
Included is a COPY of the letter Capitol Records sent to early reviewers of the album, which explains why they were replacing the "Butcher Cover" with a more conventional photo of the Beatles.  
Condition is as shown, with a couple of splits at the seams of the cover. Also, a prior owner has written "Asbury" on the back top of the cover, and tape was applied to the bottom at some point.   There is a replacement inner sleeve, but the original is missing.  
This is a great and affordable way to fill in this gap in your collection, or to simply own this rare conversation piece.
