Juvenile Delinquents - The San Records Story (LP, 10inch, 45rpm, Ltd.)
Various
1-Vinyl LP (10”), with 12-page booklet, limited & numbered edition (500 copies), 12 tracks. Total playing time approx. 27 min. Bear Family Records® presents the first-ever compilation of all records released on SAN Records, pressed on high-quality 10” vinyl, strictly limited to 500 numbered copies! Ultra-rare records, wild rural honky tonk music and early rock ‘n’ roll. Dubbed from the best copies in circulation and meticulously restored and remastered without sacrificing the cutting edge of the original performances, the platter plays at 45 rpm for best sound reproduction! The liner notes in the accompanying booklet are based on exclusive interviews by Volker Houghton with rocker Ronnie Allen and with Glen Hamilton, a close friend of the late Don Wade.
SAN Records is one of those labels that causes rock and roll collectors to drool and do crazy things. But all doings are in vain since SAN releases are as rare as they get.
Bear Family Records® searched high and low until satisfactory copies of all releases could be traced and tracked. Bear Family went all the way to convince reluctant collectors to share their treasures and allow Bear Family Records® to copy and master their vinyl rarities.
After a careful comparison, the best-sounding transfers were picked to be released on this compilation vinyl 10” LP ‘Juvenile Delinquents: The SAN Records Story’. To further boost the boom of the rocking tracks and take you back to the wild 1950s, Bear Family decided to release the platter on 45rpm. Now you can enjoy the booming sound of a vintage jukebox right at home with a hi-fi set of your choice.
SAN Records was operated by Harold Tidwell out of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, with a bit of help from honky tonk veteran Curley Ray Sanders. This Bear Family Release features the rare recordings label boss Tidwell did under the pseudonym Don Wade, all six released Ronnie Allen songs, and the waxings of Mystery Man David Barnes.
‘Juvenile Delinquents’ shows the development of honky tonk music under the pressure of Elvis's success on Sun Records and portrays all developments of early rock and roll as played in the more remote rural areas of the American South.
A collector’s vinyl album containing ultra-rare records, a real treat, and a must-have addition to any serious collector’s treasury.
