DESCRIPTION

Original Television Cast - “The Return Of The King - A Story Of The Hobbits” Disneyland Records 3822 (Mono) from 1980. Hard to find First Pressing Original TV Animation / Cartoon Cast album of “The Rankin / Bass Production Of The Return Of The King - A Story Of The Hobbits". Based on “The Hobbit” and “The Return Of The King” by J.R.R. Tolkien, this Rankin / Bass Animated film was an ABC TV special Strarring Orson Bean, Theobore Bikel, William Conrad, John Huston, Roddy McDowall, Paul Frees, Don Messick, Casey Kasem, Nellie Bellflower and more plus Glenn Yarborough who sings the closing song. In the Original Uni-Pak Inward Opening Gatefold sleeve with a Bound-In 12 Page Full Color Booklet and No Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. On the Yellow / Rainbow Disneyland Labels. This is a First Pressing as indicated by the Matrix / Runout Vinyl markings which read:

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear, edge creasing and corner softening/wear. There is a crease in the lower right. There is slight water / spill staining / wrinkling on the upper left corners of the bound-in book, not really anything you would notice if not inspecting. Still very solid with no splits, tears, writing, cutouts, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. There are some light scuffs, marks and faint hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something that can be felt with a fingernail. VG visually and plays mostly VG+ or better but with a couple spots of light groove noise and one or two soft tics - might be improved by a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The labels show a couple light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint. The book is in nice shape with no real flaws other than that mentioned above.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
