All records are described as accurately as possible and I will always prefer a more detailed depiction of the actual status, but usually I’ll only visually grade the records.
Please note that old records that were stored in shelves for a long time might have static noises even if they still look like new. Professional cleaning will almost always solve that problem.
Dust on records will generally not influence my gradings but if records appear to have stronger signs of soiling, I will give them a professional cleaning and playgrade them to get a more objective view on what their condition is actually like.
