FAIRPORT CONVENTION -  Unhalfbricking - UK Island pink i LP  A1/B1

These records are all from my personal collection built up over almost 50 years. Some were bought new, others pre-owned so condition will vary. Please do read and understand the detailed description which is my honest personal assessment - you can always check how good or bad that is by checking my feedback. My attempt at grading is based on the commonly used Record Collector grading system. Questions are welcome if anything is unclear. Happy bidding

Anyway, this listing is for a copy of the Fairport 1969 album

Fairport Convention -
Unhalfbricking
UK issue on Island Pink i label
1969
Cat Number: ILPS 9102

Mode: Stereo

The Album:
Transitional album for Fairport having lost Ian Matthews to a solo / Southern Comfort career, though he does appear on one track. Also Dave Swarbrick does some guesting on fiddle before becoming a permanent member .. and sadly this was Martin Lamble's swansong as he was killed in the transit crash (just a few days after I'd seen them on that fateful tour). Features one of Sandy Denny's greatest moments/compositions in Who knows where the time goes. This is an A1/B1 early press on heavy vinyl, but it does not have the first label (the short-lived black block label)

Condition:
Cover:  Single unlaminated sleeve is showing some age. There are some impression marks on the front, and noticeable ringwear to the rear plus creasing and edge wear. No writing or stickers. The spine text has partly rubbed away, so titles are not legible.
Labels: Bright clean Pink i labels. No stickers or writing, a number of spindle marks.
Vinyl: Vinyl has the customary and expected faint paper scrapes, and the odd hairline mark. It plays very well throughout with just occasional background crackling in quiet patches.

Overall:
A playable copy in a wearing sleeve - I'd guess it would grade at (cover/vinyl)  VG- / VG+

Terms:
Please note that I try to test-play at least part of each record before listing, but do not have time to play fully in all cases. I just played a lot of this one, but if you do discover a problem which I might have missed, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do all I can to rectify the situation. .

Postage: Reflecting new Royal Mail charges April 2014: Within UK, weight ranges usually allow up to three LPs to be posted for the same cost as one. For all other destinations costs are weight dependent, but incremental cost from additional LP's will normally cost less than the first. I am happy to hold records for a while if you wish to bid on more and combine shipment, but it helps if you can let me know particularly when bidding on items separated by a few days. Approximate prices for normal postage & packing -

UK £3.55 for up to 1kg (1,2 or 3 average weight LPs).

Europe £5.50 normal airmail, £10.50 signed-for. + £1.45 each additional,

Rest of world £7.80 normal airmail, £12.80 signed-for.  + £2.70 each additional item

These amounts include actual Royal Mail cost for first class or air mail, plus 35p for cost of packaging material (a brand new custom mailer with stiffener). The greedy snouts in the trough at Ebay now charge sellers 10% of postage costs for which there can be no justification - I refuse to pass this shameful levy on to buyers, so you only pay post and packing.

Apologies, but owing to unreliability of some postal services, I will not ship to Italy, Russian Federation, & other former Soviet countries unless a signed for service is selected and paid for.

Losses: Royal Mail have reduced maximum compensation to £20 unless items are signed-for. Compensation on signed-for shipments is up to £50. Overseas purchasers - if your purchase is well over £20, a signed for service must be selected when paying or shipping will be at your own risk, not mine, and normal airmail will only be covered for up to £20.

Payment by Sterling cheque / money order, or via Paypal

I have decided to sell my whole vinyl collection as I know it won't be appreciated by my daughter or grandchildren, so I'm shifting it myself and hope I find good homes for it. Listed items are selected at random so there should be a decent if not particularly logical mix coming up over the next few months if you keep an eye on my other items now and in the future.
Thank you to all who have already given new homes to my precious vinyl, and may you continue to enjoy these records for years to come.
