"The Wailing Wailers" (Studio 1 / No. 1 Studio S1001) Great RARE Jamaican import album by Bob Marley and the original Wailers, back when Bob was still Robert, Peter still used his full last name of McIntosh, and Bunny Wailer was Neville Livingstone. Here we find the roots reggae legends making hay at the height of the first ska era, really cranking things up on the classic ska closing track, "Simmer Down," and presenting another Marley classic in its first ska-rific incarnation, "One Love." It was an anthem and a gem from Day One! These tracks were produced by another legend, Clement Coxsone Dodd. The COOL cover is a strong VG+, with all seams intact. The vinyl is even better, Mint-minus. Sight graded (though I played all but 3 tracks, and loved hearing the songs again!). Strict grading. Great, historic stuff! With quite amusing liner notes, too!
